#620 Upgrading road data quality of Kathmandu Valley

The OSM Nepal community meeting on 4th Feb 2018 concluded to focus on quality road network of Kathmandu valley for 3 months.

The community will popularize the event inviting OSM contributors from around the country to focus on road network of Kathmandu valley. Every Friday from 2:30-3: 30 PM the community members will contribute to mapping and interacting with each other.

Community members advised to use hashtag #qualityroadsKTM while making changesets.

#605 Mapping Jajarkot, Nepal - Digital Internship and Leadership

Digital Volunteers Initiative under Kathmandu Living Labs opens this opportunity for both outstanding students and recent graduates. This internship program will develop digital skills and help the interns prepare for (digital) leadership positions. The interns will be a part of KLL’s flagship program – Digital Volunteers.

The pool of interns will receive rigorous training on a wide range of digital tools with particular emphasis on OpenStreetMap (OSM). In addition, they will also receive mentorship on career and leadership development from a group of national and international experts. About the Tasking Manager

OSM Tasking Manager is a mapping tool designed and built for the Humanitarian OSM Team collaborative mapping. The purpose of the tool is to divide up a mapping job into smaller tasks that can be completed rapidly. It shows which areas need to be mapped and which areas need the mapping validated.
This approach facilitates the distribution of tasks to the various mappers in a context of emergency. It also permits to control the progress and the homogeinity of the work done (ie. Elements to cover, specific tags to use, etc.).


TeachOSM Version

This version of the Tasking Manager is geared toward classroom instructors, or any other individuals leading a coordinated group in a team-mapping project.
