#406 PADF-Perpendicular-URL El Campanero Mixco

PADF está trabajando en conjunto con Perpendicular en la comunidad de El Campanero en el municipio de Mixco, Guatemala, para capacitar, equipar y organizar iniciativas comunitarias de preparación y respuesta a desastres, así como implementar proyectos de mejoramiento de infraestructura a pequeña escala basados en evaluaciones de riesgos y vulnerabilidades impulsadas por la comunidad. Esta iniciativa de mapeo realizada por la Universidad Rafael Landívar creará datos geoespaciales abiertos para apoyar este esfuerzo.

#415 OSM Training in South Texas by Texas Tech University Climate Science Center

This task introduces an inter-university group of interns to the South Central Climate Science Center visiting Texas Tech University to the value of OpenStreetMap for creating missing data on vulnerable communities. We will explore creating buildings in the town of Presidio, which is near to Big Bend State Park. We will also practice tracing unclassified roads, and identifying water-related features in the park itself.

About the Tasking Manager

OSM Tasking Manager is a mapping tool designed and built for the Humanitarian OSM Team collaborative mapping. The purpose of the tool is to divide up a mapping job into smaller tasks that can be completed rapidly. It shows which areas need to be mapped and which areas need the mapping validated.
This approach facilitates the distribution of tasks to the various mappers in a context of emergency. It also permits to control the progress and the homogeinity of the work done (ie. Elements to cover, specific tags to use, etc.).


TeachOSM Version

This version of the Tasking Manager is geared toward classroom instructors, or any other individuals leading a coordinated group in a team-mapping project.
