In this task, mappers are asked to digitize road network features in the enclosed areas. The resulting road network is meant to supplement existing road network files, to improve the understanding of road network coverage in western Uganda.
This task uses EXTRA SMALL-sized tiles, enclosing 401 tasks in all.
Areas/square cells have various level of existing feature coverage for road network areas. Some cells may have more complete imagery coverage than others as well.
For each square cell, we would like the mappers to identify all possible roads.
It is highly possible that some roads may have already been digitized in the cell - but please feel free to add onto those areas.
It is also highly possible that there may not be roads in some of the areas, specifically where there are those with national parks. In those cases, identify paths that may pass through the park. Areas enclosed in a park are of less priority than those areas not enclosed in a park.
Any road segment identified should be tagged with the following OSM tag:
Information about how to tag road networks in Africa can be found at the following website, associated with the URL http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Highway_Tag_Africa.
East Africa-specific tagging information can be found at the following website, associated with the URL http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/East_Africa_Tagging_Guidelines.
If you see any cells with poor imagery coverage: please comment when you check in and check out your task. That way, we know what cells to pull other types of imagery for!
