Coastal Embankment Improvement Project (the Project) is the first phase operation of the Coastal Embankment Improvement Program (CEIP) developed by Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) for strategic improvement of the Coastal Embankment System (CES) to accommodate climate change impact on water management problems. The first phase CEIP (CEIP-I) has selected 17 out of the 139 polders in the coastal zone for improvement of embankment system that will withstand severe cyclones and climate change impacts.
